LONDON – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar slammed the PTI-led administration on Monday, claiming it had failed to implement judicial and police reforms. He also said he had never sought the governorship but had been urged to take it by the party’s leadership.

When questioned by a reporter about if this was done to marginalise him, the Punjab governor agreed, but said he only realised it later. Criticizing the administration, he said that the antiquated system had failed to meet the people’s requirements.
Sarwar said that if he had been given another function, he could have delivered for the people, and that he was doing his best to fulfil his responsibilities in areas where he could exercise his authority.
He stated that it is “Pakistan’s sorrow is that our institutions have not been reinforced. Governments have failed in the past. We go after people while ignoring the need to develop institutions.”
The governor of Punjab praised the Rescue 1122 service, claiming that its methodology is superior than that of the United Kingdom because it was founded and taught by Scottish experts.
“We established the Overseas Punjab Commission when Shahbaz Sharif was Punjab’s chief minister and Nawaz Sharif was the prime minister, and I must state that this organisation is doing admirably.
