KARACHI: According to A News, the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Dealers Association called for a nationwide strike on November 25 in protest of the government’s refusal to raise dealer margins to 6%.
There will be no negotiations until our demand is granted, according to an APPPDA executive, who said that this time there would be no mercy unless their commission margin is increased.
Gas stations in Gilgit Baltistan have also called a strike across GB and Kashmir pumps on the same day, joining their hands.
The fuel pump dealers association had planned to strike on November 5 in response to the central organization’s desire for a commission raise, but the action was called off after discussions with the government.
Owais Arshad, the head of the petrol pump dealers’ organisation, declared in a news conference that the fuel pumps will go on strike on November 6 to protest the commission rate that has been fixed for years.
Owais Arshad criticised the fact that the gas pump fee has remained at 2.5 percent for the past nine years, despite the fact that expenditures have grown since 2012.
