Former President Asif Ali Zardari has declared the NA-133 Lahore by-election results to be a rebirth of the Pakistan People’s Party in Punjab.
According to the 24News HD TV station, Zardari called former Prime Minister and PPP Central Punjab President Raja Pervez Ashraf and congratulated him on his victory in the by-elections.
In an interview with the PPP Central Punjab leader, Zardari stated that the Lahore by-elections have proven to be a watershed moment for the party, as it has given birth to a new generation that would bring about change in the province.
It is important to note that the PPP candidate lost the NA-133 by-election but received 32,313 votes for second place. The candidate of the Nawaz League won the election with 46,811 votes from NA-133.
