KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement, a government coalition partner, has strengthened connections with opposition groups, according to reports. On Tuesday, a team of MQM-Pakistan will meet with Shehbaz Sharif, the head of the Opposition in the National Assembly, at his Lahore house.
The MQM-P delegation, which includes Amir Khan, Waseem Akhtar, and Sadiq Iftikhar, will meet with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday in his Model Town residence, according to people familiar with the situation.
According to sources, the two sides would discuss Sindh’s political situation, with an emphasis on local government and other issues.
According to insiders, the question of in-house reform via a no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister Imran Khan would be discussed during a meeting between the two parties.
A team from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) will also meet with the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q tomorrow.
The MQM delegation will inquire about PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujat Hussian’s health, as he is ailing.
The MQM leaders will also look into the local government system in light of the recent Supreme Court verdict.
Today, the Awami National Party’s top leadership met with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (ANP). A group from the MQM-P, comprising Amir Khan and Waseem Akhtar, met with ANP’s Aimal Wali Khan at Wali Bagh today.
