In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, exports of information technology (IT) increased by 32.65%.
“ICT export remittances, including telecommunication, computer, and information services, surged by 32.65% to US $1.487 billion during Financial Year (FY) 2021-22, up from US $1.121 billion during the same time in FY 2020-21,” according to a Ministry of IT and Telecom official.
According to him, ICT export remittances in January 2022 were $185 million, up 14.2% from $162 million in January 2021. However, the $66 million was less than the previous month’s export remittances, which were $67 million in December 2021.
