LAHORE – Following repeated failures, an anti-corruption establishment (ACE) team, assisted by police, detained PTI president Chaudhry Parvez Elahi outside his mansion, Zahoor Elahi Palace, on Thursday on graft allegations, stated Punjab interim information minister Amir Mir.
Mr Mir said that the former Punjab Chief Minister had been detained for accepting bribes in development projects and that he would be transferred to the anti-corruption headquarters soon. “The area around his house had been cordoned off for the last couple of days,” he said.
He first refused, but when the cops attempted to shatter his car’s driver side glass, he stated he got out. “Talks about human rights violations should be toned down because he is accused of corruption,” he continued.
“He will be treated in jails as other accused are treated,” he stated.
